Staff
We are three experienced carers, who between us support 7 adults with learning disabilities in our own homes. We have many years of experience and have lots of enthusiasm in our work. We all hold an enhanced CRB.
We have friendly and enthusiastic staff who are regularly appraised, trained and reviewed to assist them in being able to meet our clients needs.

I live in Northampton with my husband who is now semi retired. We enjoy trips, holidays and socialising. I have 2 children and 7 grandchildren. I currently support 3 adults with learning disabilities in my own home.
I have worked in various aspects of care for over 30 years. I worked at St Andrews dealing in complex needs and forensic wards. I have also worked in other residential units and in the community with the elderly and adults with learning disabilities.

I live in Wellingborough with the 2 adults I support and 3 dogs. I enjoy getting out and about, I am very sociable, I like meeting new and different people. I have one child and am now a proud Grandmother.
I started working in the community caring for the elderly and sick in their own homes. I then worked at Gretton House which is a unit for adults with Learning Disabilities and Prader -Willi Syndrome for 5 years. I have NVQ2 in care and various other qualifications. This was a great achievement to me as I found out quite late in life that I am dyslexic.
I currently support 2 adults with LD in my own home, one is blind and the other has challenging behaviors.
Mandy Brough
I live in Wellingborough with my 2 dogs and support one man in my own home who is partially sighted and has a learning disability. I also offer respite care, anything from a weekend to a 1/2 week break.
I have 2 children, one is in the army and the other a university graduate, I also have 1 grandchild. I enjoy long walks with my dogs and gardening.
I am a qualified Nursery Nurse and helped to run a playgroup for several years. I then worked in retail where I was a Health and Safety representative. I really enjoy working with and meeting different people so when the opportunity came up to work with adults with Learning disabilities I decided to take it. I enjoy both long term care and respite care.

Jessica Robinson
I have a 5 year old daughter and have been working as a personal assistant to a blind man with a Learning Disability for nearly a year. I enjoy the challenges of my work and the activities I do. I enjoy my job and find it very fulfilling. I am now studying for my NVQ Level 2.
Sam
I have 3 children aged 16, 10 and 3. I have been working for the Sunflower Day Centre for a year now and almost completed my NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, which although has been hard juggling work and home life, I have managed my time and thoroughly enjoyed the learning process. I have learnt that by listening to and supporting our service users, I help to promote their independence and lead the life they want to. Our service users have the opportunity to have their say and to be listened to. I have regular up to date training to improve my work skills to benefit myself and our service users.
We also have people who volunteer their time, be it an hour or a day.
We take on students from Tresham College and local schools on work experience and will soon be taking students on work experience with LD on a "Skills for work" program.
